Your Workspace Says A Lot About Your Business

thumb it up Shaun Parker
Gone are the days where every office looked the same - grey, laminated MDF inspired (or uninspired should I say) areas that did little to motivate those unlucky enough to be stuck in there, trying to get the best out of themselves in order to better their careers.

Today, many office spaces express the style and integrity of the business, and if they don't, they should do - especially if your day to day business encompasses bringing clients into your office. First impressions count for a lot, especially when competition for clients is as vital as it ever has been in today's current economic climate. Office furniture is key to the overall look and functionality of your workspace.

A sea of crisp, clean imacs deserves more than to be surrounded by laminate clad office furniture or spongy wheelie chairs that wouldn't look out of place at Wernham Hog. I'm not suggesting that every office needs an Eames chair in the corner, or Naguchi coffee tables and Barcelona sofas in the foyer - although if you have the money or the space then great - but decrepit, tired office spaces do absolutely nothing for your business, except put clients off.

Of course, many businesses will be reigning in whatever spare funds they have due to the biggest recession since Bruce Willis's hairline, but there will always be businesses in need of an office spruce up. And these spruce ups can be incredibly time consuming.

An increasing trend for many different kinds of businesses is to employ an office space design company to create your new space; source suppliers of office furniture and fittings, and project manage your office refurbishment. These experts cater for your business's needs, within whatever budget you choose, working with a wide variety of different manufacturers worldwide to offer an infinite range of office furniture, storage solutions, tables, desks and soft seating. By not being tied to any one supplier, specialist office space designers provide independent advice on the right products for your needs and can find the right prices to suit your budget.

This is the hassle free and often most cost-effective way in terms of time management to redesign your office workspace. Why waste time sourcing the right office furniture at the right price, what colour schemes, tones and materials will best suit your office as well as managing the refurbishment, whilst tending to your business's everyday operations? This can be time consuming, especially if you've never had to refurbish an office before and don't particularly know what you're doing. It can also go horribly wrong if you're inexperienced at designing your office space.

Can you imagine investing your own time into refurbishing your office in-house, in order to cut costs, only for the outcome to be a ghastly end result? Remember, you will have to work there after all. Why take that risk especially when there are so many office design companies that are easily accessible via the internet? It surely is a no-brainer.

Grey may look good on George Clooney's head, but no one wants to work in a grey space, so get sprucing, and give your employees a workspace to be proud of - and impress the pants off prospective clients, only leave it to those who know best, while you concentrate on doing what you do best.
